Tensions are brewing in Karapur-Sarvan over a new project that villagers were clueless about and which involves farmers’ land

Tensions flared in the Karapur-Sarvan project area as farmers claimed tenant rights over the disputed land.

Angry villagers alleged that nobody — not even the local panchayat — had informed them that the property had been quietly sold for the Lodha project, allegedly by minister Vishwajit Rane. Amid mounting outrage and uncertainty, a heavy police force was deployed in the village to keep the situation under control.
