Viegas alleges that the accused gained the trust of schoolgirls with false promises and compliments

Auda Viegas, social activist, highlighted a disturbing case linked to the Curchorem sex scandal, stating that the accused targeted schoolgirls from Classes 9 to 11 by gaining their trust through friendship and false promises, often via mutual contacts and social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram.


She stressed that victims should not be blamed, urged mandatory reporting under the POCSO Act, and called for greater parental awareness, warning that those sharing objectionable content could face legal action, with around 15 victims suspected.
