Complaint filed after alleged attack on Kashinath Shetye at Merces

The incident occurred while Shetye was conducting an inspection of alleged mangrove destruction and illegal soil filling

Social activist Kashinath Shetye has filed a complaint at the Old Goa Police Station after he was allegedly assaulted during a site inspection at Merces on Friday. He was inspecting complaints of mangrove destruction and illegal soil filling when the incident occurred.

Police have acknowledged the complaint and initiated an inquiry.
