Deep sea fishing support raised in Assembly

CM Pramod Sawant highlights Matsya Sampada Yojana and blue economy support

In today’s Assembly session, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai raised the issue of deep sea fishing and the presence of Sri Lankan and Chinese vessels in the Arabian Sea, urging modernisation of the fishing sector.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said schemes under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana and the blue economy initiative support advanced technology and boat purchases, adding that the state is ready to provide further support.
