Ethan Vaz bags U-17 silver, qualifies for world events

Finishing unbeaten, he has qualified for the 2026 World and Asian Youth events

Ethan Vaz of Goa has won a silver medal at the 2025–26 National Under-17 Open Chess Championship in Ahmedabad, finishing unbeaten with 9/11 points.

The 14-year-old International Master has qualified for the 2026 World and Asian Youth events. A former national junior champion, he will represent India in both the Under-18 and Under-20 categories at global and continental championships.
