Fuel found in well at Our Lady of Health Church, Sancoale

A strong odour is said to have been emanating from the well for the past two weeks

A well on the premises of Our Lady of Health Church in Shindole, Sancoale, was found contaminated with fuel. MLA Anton Vaz, along with police and other, carried out a site inspection.

Parish priest Fr Kenneth Teles said the area had been experiencing a strong smell for the past 15 days, following which, he raised the issue with the MLA on Sunday. Locals drew water from the well and tested it with paper, and were shocked to find it catching fire, indicating the presence of fuel.
