Goa Velha’s ‘Procession of Saints’ to be held on March 23

'Santachem Pursao', an event unique to Goa Velha, is held on the fifth Monday of Lent

The unique penitential Procession of Saints (Santanchem Pursao), will be held at St Andrew's Church in Goa Velha on 23 March 2026 at 4.30 pm.

Fr Romeo Monteiro, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman will be the main celebrant at the eucharistic celebration. This will be followed by the procession of the saints.

The statues of the saints will be kept open for public veneration on 23, 24 and 25 March in the church. On 24 March, masses will be celebrated at 7 am, 9 am and 4 pm. On 25 March, the mass will be at 7 am.
