Government of Goa sets up SITs to survey reserved forest land

They will identify reserved forest land and reclaim areas allegedly used for non-forest purposes

The Government of Goa has formed taluka-level SITs to identify reserved forest land under the Revenue Department, as directed by the Supreme Court of India. The teams will also check whether any forest land was handed over to private individuals for non-forest use and will take steps to reclaim it.
