Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds caused major damage in Valpoi and parts of Sattari on Thursday evening. Several houses were damaged after trees fell on rooftops, while roofing sheets and tiles were blown away in some areas.
Property worth lakhs of rupees was damaged. Fire personnel from Valpoi carried out relief operations until late at night.
