Indian Navy’s new offshore patrol vessel ‘Shachi’ launched

The next-gen vessel will strengthen maritime surveillance and represent a milestone in indigenous shipbuilding

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) launched the next-generation Offshore Patrol Vessel, Shachi (Yard 1280), for the Indian Navy on Tuesday. The vessel was launched by Shagun Sobti, in the presence of Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti and senior naval officers.

The launch strengthens India's maritime surveillance and coastal security, and marks a key milestone in the country's indigenous shipbuilding programme.
