LPG consumers must complete e-KYC amid supply concerns

Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is now mandatory for LPG users to continue subsidies as West Asia tensions disrupt supplies and trigger shortages

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has mandated Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for all domestic LPG users to continue receiving services and subsidies. Consumers can complete e-KYC via official mobile apps or through distributors.

The move comes amid supply disruptions due to tensions in West Asia impacting shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, triggering shortages and panic buying in several regions.
