The mortuary at the Margao District Hospital has reached full capacity, with no space left to accommodate additional bodies as several kept by the Municipality remain unclaimed.
Municipal Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar said the Additional Collector has been informed, and a request has been made to release pending dues of Rs 15.21 lakh.
He added that 21 bodies are currently lying in the mortuary, stressing the need for urgent action to clear the dues and shift the bodies to free up space.
