A tiger carcass was discovered in a decomposed condition in the forest area of Aglot, Sacorda, Dharbandora. Officials said it is not yet clear whether the animal was killed by poachers or attacked by another wild animal; however, its teeth and nails were found missing.
Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar said that five tiger deaths were reported in Goa between 2009 and 2019. He added that another tiger was found dead in a forest area in May 2026, and noted that he discovered the current carcass in a decomposed state.
Kerkar has appealed to the Goa government to take serious note of the incident and order a thorough investigation.
