Woman electrocuted while plucking mangoes in Tilamol, locals raise safety concerns

The woman was reportedly using a metal rod to pluck the mangoes

A 40-year-old woman, identified as Succorina, was electrocuted in Tilamol on Friday while plucking raw mangoes from a tree near O Carolina Hall.


According to sources, the incident occurred when she was using an iron rod to reach the fruit. The rod accidentally came into contact with a nearby 11 KV high-tension power line, resulting in a severe electric shock. She died on the spot.


Locals have expressed concern over the close proximity of high-tension wires to residential and agricultural areas, calling on the electricity department to take urgent preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
