The map highlights 48 commonly found species in the state alongside traditional Goan art forms and will be distributed free to schools in, both, print and digital formats.
Designed to educate young students about the region’s rich natural heritage, the map also celebrates the connections between Goan culture and wildlife, and thus, features traditional Kaavi art, inspired by the region’s red soil, the local Kunbi weave, and folk dances such as Ghodemodni, Morulo, Waghro Dev, Sateri Devi, and Mange Thaapni – each linked to specific animals namely horses, peacocks, tigers, ants and crocodiles.
