‘Doosra’ faces legal challenge as Sourav Ganguly moves Delhi HC

The Delhi High Court seeks responses from the makers of the film 'Doosra', based on ace cricketer Sourav Ganguly

The Delhi High Court on Friday sought responses from the makers of the film Doosra on former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s plea alleging a violation of his personality rights. The court also directed the filmmakers to organise a screening of the movie, which released on Friday.

A vacation bench led by Justice Vinod Kumar said it would consider granting interim relief against the film after the defendants filed their responses. The court issued summons to the film’s producers, director and distributor in a lawsuit filed by Ganguly and Luv Films LLP, which is producing a biopic on the former India captain. The matter was heard during the High Court’s Dussehra break.
