Unity Mall protest leader Govind Shirodkar welcomed the project’s relocation from Chimbel, but disputed the CM’s claim that the site lies outside the influence zone.

RG leader Ajay Kholkar said the government has not officially communicated the relocation of the Unity Mall and Prashasan Stambh projects from Chimbel, adding that the hunger strike will continue pending public consultation.

The state government on Wednesday decided to shift the Unity Mall and Prashasan Stambh projects from Chimbel following local objections, saying the new site is in a settlement zone near the National Highway.
